Project Overview
Kinetech is a Norwegian startup focused on digital solutions for well-being. Their goal was to create a mobile application for home rehabilitation using computer vision to help users exercise correctly.
Problem & Goals
Limited access to physiotherapy and long wait times made rehabilitation difficult, especially for users with mobility issues. The goal was to design an app that uses only a smartphone camera to detect and correct user posture in real time.
Process & Solution
Led discovery workshops to align user needs with business goals
Created proto-personas (trainers, users, doctors) to guide UX decisions
Built wireframes focusing on camera-based motion interactions
Collaborated with devs to adapt UI to MediaPipe’s limitations
Refined flows based on motion tracking accuracy and calibration feedback
Outcomes & Metrics
85% of test users said the feedback helped improve exercise technique
Interface comprehension time dropped by 30% due to clear flows and visuals
Created scalable foundation for adding more exercises and 3D posture tracking
Next Steps
To build on these results, the next phase focused on tracking engagement metrics such as session frequency, retention, and feature usage. Plans included gathering in-app feedback, analyzing behavior patterns, and refining the experience in future design iterations to further improve motivation, usability, and long-term adoption.

The app integrates AI-driven pose detection with a user-friendly interface to support effective home rehabilitation. It provides real-time feedback on exercise technique, helping users avoid mistakes and reduce injury risk. Clear navigation and tailored flows also make it easier for patients and physiotherapists to track progress and improve recovery outcomes.
